Fandom: Torchwood
Prompt: [livejournal.com profile] fanfic50 #008 Kiss
Summary: Jack's a prisoner on the Valiant, a plaything for the Master. He's not the only one.
Notes: A year that never was fic. I wrote it a long time ago and left it, thinking it wasn't finished. Now I think it was finished, it's just that it's disturbing.

Ianto's eyes are like chips of ice as he stares along the barrel of the revolver. )

Summary: Grief is not simply a state, it's a process.
Prompt: [livejournal.com profile] fanfic50 #01, Finish.
Notes: I started this after the end of the End of Time, when I was spittingly, incadescently angry at what I felt was a cheap throwaway portrayal of Jack after what he'd been through. I wanted to change it into something that meant something. Due to RL, this has taken a long time to write but I'm glad I did finish it. ~1500 words

Jack doesn't attend Ianto's funeral. )

So, the inevitable has happened. Torchwood is back and this time it's in the US, apparently. I just can't see this being anything other than a fail, to be honest. Children of Earth was an amazing bit of TV that I never thought they could pull off and I just can't see how they can possibly move forward from there with those characters in the usual cavalier Torchwood writing fashion where all the consequences are just shut away and ignored. It doesn't help that RTD thought, having finished TW the way he had, that the appropriate farewell to Jack in End of Time was to have him hooking up with a random guy in a bar.

I guess I'm just sad that in order to shed the dead wood, poor quality writers/producers from Dr Who they've had to stick them onto Torchwood. Still, at least now I'll have Who to make up for it.

So, I was reading one of the pieces of Jack/Ianto bodyswap fic in my memories when it suddenly occured to me to wonder - who gets the immortality in this deal? Is it physiological, or does it transfer with Jack's soul? It's got to be pretty harrowing either way. Anyone got any recs for fics exploring that?

Title: Contact
Fandom: Torchwood, pre S1.
Rating: 18 - explicit.
Summary: Ianto comes back drunk to the Hub where he has a slightly cross purposes conversation with Jack and decides that what he really wants is not to talk.
Prompt: TW porn battle IV, Drunk sex, edging (link)
Notes: So yeah. Not so much with the comment fic. Just over 3k words. I haven't actually re-read it but I certainly enjoyed writing it, so I figure that's the main thing. Random extra feedback.

When the Hub door cycles half an hour after he's forced Tosh out of the door, Jack at first assumes that even his direst threats have failed against the lure of figuring out the control matrix of the scanner and he's going to have to carry her out caveman style. )

Summary: When Jack comes back from his trip with the Doctor, he takes Ianto out on a date. It sets the tone for a different kind of relationship between them.
Notes: Firstly, thank you to [profile] amandr for the beta - as I said to her, I reach a point when I finish a story where I have zero perspective on it. She reassured me that this was neither too emo nor too slushy to post :) I have always found it interesting that when Jack came back, he asked Ianto out on a date. It seems like such an un-Jack like thing to do. So I wanted to explore this. This was going to be a different story with a different title once, but I like how it turned out.

'So, how about that date,' Jack asks as they leave the roof of the car-park. )

Title: The night before Christmas
Prompt: [livejournal.com profile] thestopwatch Holiday!Bang, prompt 68
Notes: If you've been following the Holiday!Bang, you may already have read this, but now the authors are revealed, I thought I'd link it from here too for completeness. A somewhat AU timeline in that in order to have a pre-Season One Christmas, I have moved Ianto's arrival at Torchwood forward 4 months to about October, so he's been there about 2 months at the time of this piece. Not one hundred percent faithful to the prompt, but close enough to the jumping off point that I think I can get away with it. Huge thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] caladria for help and beta.
Warnings: Explicit. No spoilers.

( Suzie's eyes had that sparkle in them that meant she was about to enjoy herself at someone else's expense as she summoned Ianto over to her desk from his daily round of picking up the trash. )

Title: Simultaneous release
Summary: Jack takes Ianto weevil hunting during his suspension, hoping to ease them back into a working relationship. All does not go as planned.
Rating/Warnings: Gen. Jack!death
Prompt: [livejournal.com profile] fanfic50 #37, Admit
Note: Unbeta'd, all mistakes herin are my own. All feedback/crit welcome. The title is a line from the song Dani California, from which the lines which inspired this also come from - "Lookin' down the barrel of a hot metal 45, Just another way to survive"

Ianto glared at Jack, standing in the hallway looking just the same as usual. )

Title: Dependency
Fandom: Torchwood
Rating: Gen
Summary: Jack comes back from the dead early to find himself alone. He goes looking for Ianto.
Notes: So, I had the idea for this a while back, but wanted to fit to to a prompt from my [livejournal.com profile] fanfic50 table, which I couldn't do so I kind of pushed it aside. And then it wouldn't go away but just simmered in the back of my head. Reading the prompts to [livejournal.com profile] thestopwatch the other day really reminded me of it though (why is it that so many people seem to like the idea of smoking Ianto?) so I decided to write it. RL is not in a position where I can easily avail myself of beta services right now and this is probably the first thing I've posted where I think really I could have done a better job with it if I let it sit and mature but the way stuff is right now I doubt it'd get posted at all if I did so here it is. Which is a round about way of saying please let me know of any egregious mistakes :)

Jack came to and strained his ears. )

Title: Operation Ruthless
Fandom: Torchwood/RPS
Rating: 18. Here lies PWP
Summary: Captain Jack Harkness has volunteered for a risky mission to retrieve German naval code books and help to crack the Enigma cypher. Dr Alan Turing wants to make sure he's taking it seriously.
Authors note: The idea for this pairing came to me at random while cycling one day and I couldn't resist it so I started looking for a suitable scenario. When I discovered Operation Ruthless, a plan to lure some German boats out by crashing a captured German plane in the Channel, overpower their crew and pinch the code books proposed by Ian Flemming (yes, that Ian Flemming) but never implemented, I couldn't resist. The reason it was never implemented seems to be in some dispute, but, I theorised, the likelihood of the crash just killing the pilot must have been a problem, which is where Jack, busy avoiding his previous self in London and looking for something to do, comes in. The characterisation of Turing is entirely imagined, although he did historically express frustration at the insistance by society of supressing and concealing homosexuality. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] the_summoning_d for the beta and encouragement!

Alan sat in the back of the briefing room, listening to Commander Flemming lay out the details of the operation. )

Title: Welcome Home
Summary: Jack's back in the Hub but there's no-one there to meet him.
Rating/Warnings: Gen. Implied J/I, I suppose if you want to be strictly accurate.
Prompt: [livejournal.com profile] fanfic50 #48, Empty
Authors notes: Unbeta'd, written to distract from restlessness with other WIPs. Please do comment with any grevious grammatical mistakes or errors missed by the spellchecker. Too long to be a drabble, strictly speaking, but a short.

He looked around the Hub and frowned. )

Title: Electricity
Fandom: Torchwood
Summary: An unwelcome blast from Ianto's past turns up in connection with Torchwood's latest investigation.
Rating/Warnings: Gen, team, implied pairings as canon. Jack!death.
Notes: So, this is my first attempt at coming up with my own Torchwood plot. I was fascinated by the description of Ianto's history from Fragments - it was so unlike how I had imagined it so I decided to try to build a story where a little more is revealed. This pushes him even more towards the bad boy side of the tracks than Fragments, but it is basically consistent with what Jack said there if you assume that he just didn't get caught much.

'So, Gwen, any connection between our bums yet?' Jack asked with a grin )

Title: Coat still magic
Fandom: Torchwood, Jack/Ianto
Summary: How does Jack's coat seem to survive through thick and thin? Inquiring minds want to know.
Prompt: [livejournal.com profile] fanfic50 #33, Question
Note: Title from [livejournal.com profile] tencrush's fanon poll. Un-beta'd drabble. A sudden inspiration struck me this afternoon and I just had to get it down - please do point out any mistakes in comments.

'Why is it,' Ianto asked... )
