So, arc heavy episode there then? I wonder, if the crack is eating up time, whether the Doctor really did leave Amy for 12 years, or whether it was an artifact of the anomoly which made her grow up faster. It seems likely that she herself is someone part of the anomoly, which makes me wonder if the dramatic denoument is going to involve the Dr having to choose between her and the world or something. Which we already did with Donna, so I hope not.

I liked River Song much more in this episode. It's pretty clear that the man she killed was the Doctor, and I liked the way it was clear that she can't tell him not because she doesn't trust him to believe that there might be a good reason to kill him, but because she can't risk fucking up their timeline, so whatever she killed him for must have been pretty important. Also strong hint she'll be back before the end of the series, and more fairytale stuff.

Too many suggestions, not enough actual clues for any kind of certainty but actually good storytelling that's got me interested in figuring it out. I like the emphasis in figuring out, solving the logic puzzle, thinking it through in this series - that's something that should be encouraged!

That's a really interesting thought about Amy having grown up faster due to the anomaly. It struck me that she looked very childlike when she curled up in the forest to die but I thought at the time that it might be part of the Red Riding Hood motif for this story.

I'm a bit annoyed that I think I have been geographically spoiled re the Amy/crack thing since the first episode and I do try to avoid spoilers. We'll see if I'm right I guess but a line from this week's episode suggests that I am. I will try to shut up about it from now on anyway.
