If you want to lose weight -- not if your mother wants you to lose weight -- surgery is the last fucking resort. The first step would be to go to your doctor and get a full hormone panel workup and a glucose tolerance test done to make sure that your body processes food properly, because I have fed you and hosted you for extended periods of time (and if anything, you might need to be eating more than you do) and I'd wager money that any weight you gain or retain has to do with insulin resistance and nothing at all to do with overindulgence et al -- and that's not something that (stupid, fucking dangerous, etc, etc) surgery can even touch.
