Yeah, I see your point. In an ideal world, I would have it as an option - update links to imported posts to point to the new DreamWidth version or something like that. And then it would update links in your own import and other people importing links to your posts. Although actually, getting into updating other people's content is kind of skeevy, so scratch that.
OK. So the default behaviour I was expecting is that links to other posts in my own journal would update - say links back to my fanfic 50 table from the relevant stories. That way I wouldn't have to go and do them manually. That behaviour could be made optional.
How much work would it be to also have an option to update links to posts from other users that have now been imported into DreamWidth? It strikes me as a lot fiddlier to do, but if I'm wrong, it's another option I'd like to have.
